Admission

Access to university master's degree programmes is regulated by Royal Decree 822/2021, of 28 September, which establishes the organisation of university education and the quality assurance procedure.

In order to gain admission to the Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, that qualify the holder to practise the regulated profession of Civil Engineer, the following requirements must be met:

• University degree
  • Holders of an official bachelor's degree that qualifies them to practise the regulated profession of technical public works engineer
  • Holders of an official bachelor's degree that provides the competencies outlined in Ministerial Order CIN/307/2009, dated February 9^th, in accordance with the provisions of Section 4.2.2 of Order CIN/309/2009, dated February 9^th.
  • Students on double-degree programmes that include the Master's Degree in Civil Engineering (Professional track) under the continuity system.
  • Holders of other qualifications, in accordance with the provisions of Section 4.2.3 of Order CIN/309/2009, dated February 9^th

Students pending obtaining the degree that gives access to the master's degree

UPC bachelor's degree students may be admitted even if they have not yet obtained their bachelor's degree, provided they have only their Bachelor's Thesis (TFG) and a maximum of 9 ECTS credits remaining (including credits pending recognition or transfer), or if they have completed all their studies but are still required, where applicable, to demonstrate proficiency in a third language as a transversal competence. In the specific case of students enrolled in the PARS in Civil Engineering, applicants may be admitted if they only have the Bachelor's Thesis (TFG) and one or more subjects remaining, provided that the combined total (TFG and subjects) does not exceed 30 ECTS credits. Under no circumstances may students admitted through this route obtain the master's degree before they have obtained their bachelor's degree.

Applicants from other universities who are enrolled in all the credits required to complete the studies that provide access to the master's programme may apply for admission. Their admission will be subject to meeting the general and specific access and admission requirements at the time of enrolment.

In all cases, priority admission to the master's programme will be given to applicants who already hold an official bachelor's degree. In particular, there is no reserved place or priority admission to the master's programme for students enrolled in the PARS in Civil Engineering, as this is expressly prohibited by Royal Decree 822/2021.

• Weighted average mark factor or parameter (F1)
• Efficiency factor or parameter (F2)
• Probability factor or parameter of success in studies (F3)
• University cutoff mark factor or parameter (F4)
• University degree and English proficiency level factor or parameter (G)
