Academic progress & continuity procedures

Student continuation in bachelor's degree programs is regulated by Article 5 of the UPC General Academic Regulations for Bachelor's Degree Studies (NAGEG).

The requirements for continuing bachelor's degree studies at Barcelona School of Civil Engineering (Escola de Camins) are as follows:

  • Minimum performance in the initial phase
Students must pass the 60 credits of the first year of the bachelor's degree program within a maximum of 2 academic years for full-time students, or 4 academic years for part-time students. See Article 5.5 of the NAGEG.
  • Minimum performance in the first academic year
Students enrolled in bachelor's degree studies must pass a minimum of 12 ECTS credits during the first academic year. See Article 5.4 of the NAGEG.
  • Minimum performance after completing initial phase credits
Students with an academic performance parameter of less than 0.3 over the last two enrolled academic periods will be withdrawn from the program. See Article 5.8 of the NAGEG.

Students who fail to meet the academic continuation requirements after these deadlines have passed will be withdrawn from their studies. Once the curricular assessment period has concluded, the School will publish the provisional resolution regarding students withdrawn from their studies for the current academic year.

The provisional resolution may be consulted at:

Affected students may submit a reasoned and duly justified request for an extension of the deadline to complete the minimum number of credits required for the first academic year and/or to meet the minimum academic performance requirements for the initial phase; requests should be addressed to the School's management or, in the case of Geological Engineering studies, to the Chair of the Governing Board.
