“Camins Divulga”, a gathering to connect science and technology with society

Sep 16, 2026

On September 30th, coinciding with European Research Night, the Sala Camins Connected will host a training and debate session featuring a panel discussion on digital storytelling, social media, and academic rigor with Dani Jiménez, Arnau Fabra, and Patrícia López.

Boosting the visibility of research, teaching, and the social impact of engineering is one of our School's major communication challenges. With this mission in mind, Camins Divulga was born—a new institutional project designed to provide the Escola de Camins community with the tools, channels, and strategies needed to translate complex technical knowledge into accessible and engaging stories for the general public.

To launch this initiative, on Wednesday, September 30th, at 6:00 PM, the Sala Camins Connected will host a training and debate session in a panel format. Coinciding with European Research Night, the session will address practical ways to democratize science without compromising academic rigor.

Key topics covered during the event include:

  • Digital opportunities and channels: how to leverage platforms like YouTube, Instagram Reels, or Podcasts to explain civil, environmental, and marine science engineering projects.
  • Format and narrative: strategic keys to adapt technical discourse and strike the exact balance between academic rigor and digital appeal.
  • Best practices and practical tips: direct recommendations on overcoming camera shyness, engaging new audiences, and communicating with impact.

The panel will feature science communicators, communication professionals, and content creators:

  • Dani Jiménez: science communicator, UPC writer-in-residence, and media reference, participating as moderator and panelist.
  • Arnau Fabra: digital communicator and creator of the renowned Catalan content channel @expli.cat.
  • Patrícia López: scientist and communicator with extensive experience in disseminating research projects.

At the end of the session, a networking reception will be offered to all attendees to exchange ideas, answer questions, and explore collaboration opportunities.

Registration: capacity is limited to 30 seats, allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Register for the Camins Divulga event.
