Two School of Civil Engineering students awarded the Abertis Prize in the master's thesis category

These projects reflect the applied research that current urban mobility requires: rigorous, data-driven, and oriented toward solving the major operational and social challenges of transport systems.

•  Miquel Roger de la Torre's master's thesis proposes an innovative methodology to analyze the trade-off between housing and transport costs, aiming to support equitable decision-making.
• Celia López Yarza's master's thesis presents a pioneering AI-based method to estimate the value of travel time. This proposal considers both boundary conditions and individual needs to move toward more inclusive and personalized mobility solutions.

Both projects, supervised by Professor Margarita Martínez Díaz from the BIT-Barcelona Innovació en Transport, research group, demonstrate how academic research can generate methods, tools, and knowledge with a direct impact on cities, transport networks, and people's daily lives.
