Director Esther Real presides over the CODICAM national assembly to discuss strategic professional issues, on a day when the Barcelona representative secured 4th place in the national Olympics final.
Last Thursday, April 16th, the School of Civil Engineering at the University of Granada (UGR) hosted the follow-up meeting of the Conference of Directors of Civil Engineering Schools (CODICAM). The summit was marked by the leadership of the Barcelona School of Civil Engineering (UPC), as its director, Esther Real, currently serves as the organization's president.
During the assembly, directors from schools across the country discussed transversal issues directly affecting the future of civil engineering. Key agenda items included the coordination of academic curricula, the promotion of professional prestige in a global environment, and the response to new challenges in sustainability and digital transformation within the sector.
The UPC Barcelona School of Civil Engineering's presidency of this body reinforces our institution's commitment to excellence and its role as a hub connecting the different territorial and academic perspectives of engineering in Spain.
The event also featured the national final of the 8th Civil Engineering Olympics, a competition designed to introduce high school students to the field and foster technical vocations through engineering challenges and teamwork.
The team from Liceu Politècnic de Sant Cugat, which advanced to the final as the winner of the Barcelona local phase organized by our School, achieved a notable 4th place nationwide. This result highlights the problem-solving skills of local secondary students competing against the best teams from across Spain.
