Aigües de Barcelona launches the AB Data Challenge: DeepTech Edition

Aigües de Barcelona, the company responsible for supplying water to more than 3 million people across 23 municipalities in the metropolitan area, has launched the AB Data Challenge: DeepTech Edition. This initiative seeks to develop solutions with a positive impact—whether environmental, social, or economic—based on the analysis of smart metering data from the metropolitan territory.

Participation Conditions:

• Funding: up to €100,000 allocated for the development of the winning proposal.
• Exclusive access to real data: a key resource to validate models and algorithms in a real metropolitan environment.
• Execution period: project development lasting between 6 and 18 months.

Timeline of the Call:

• Applications open: September 14, 2026
• Submission deadline: November 13, 2026
• Selection of the 6 finalists: December 2026
• Pitch Day (virtual format): January 2027
