Els ODS
Al 2015, les Nacions Unides van publicar els Objectius de Desenvolupament Sostenible, que pretenen adaptar-se a les noves circumstàncies i solucionar els problemes de l'actualitat. Aquestes fites tenen com a objectiu promoure el desenvolupament, benestar i progrés de la societat contemplant criteris econòmics, mediambientals, socials i culturals.

Directrius de la CRUE sobre les competències de sostenibilitat i compromís social
El grup de treball en sostenibilitat de la CRUE recomana integrar les següents quatre competències específiques en Sostenibilitat (S) i Compromís Social (CS) a l'educació universitària:
- Competència en la contextualització crítica del coneixement establint interrelacions amb la problemàtica social, econòmica i ambiental, local i/o global.
- Competència en la utilització sostenible de recursos i prevenció d'impactes negatius del medi natural i social.
- Competència en la participació en processos comunitaris que promoguin la sostenibilitat.
- Competència en l'aplicació dels principis ètics relacionats amb els valors de la sostenibilitat en els comportaments personals i professionals.
Codi deontològic de l'Enginyeria Civil
El codi deontològic del Col·legi d'Enginyers de Camins, Canals i Ports (CICCP) anuncia a l'Article 9, el compromís dels enginyers i enginyeres amb la societat, els recursos i el medi ambient, la importància de tenir en compte la sostenibilitat i el principi precautori en tots els àmbits de la professió.
El marc legal
Actualment els Enginyers i Enginyeres de Camins, Canals i Ports han de ser formats amb les competències dictades a l'Ordre Ministerial CIN/309/2009. Dins d'aquests assoliments es contempla el requisit de considerar el desenvolupament sostenible en la formació tècnica que habilita a la professió:
- Capacitat per a analitzar i diagnosticar els condicionants socials, culturals, ambientals i econòmics d'un territori, així com per a realitzar projectes d'ordenació territorial i planejament urbanístic des de la perspectiva d'un desenvolupament sostenible.
- Capacitat per a avaluar i condicionar mediambientalment les obres d'infraestructures en projectes, construcció, rehabilitació i conservació.

Què és el Mapa de Sostenibilitat en l'Enginyeria?
El projecte EDINSOST ha elaborat el Mapa de Sostenibilitat en l'Enginyeria (MSE), una eina que relaciona les competències en sostenibilitat i compromís social amb els resultats d'aprenentatge que un/a graduat/da en enginyeria hauria d'haver adquirit quan acabi els seus estudis, agrupats en tres nivells de domini (l'aprenentatge teòric - SABER, la reflexió - SABER COM i l'aplicació en casos pràctics - DEMOSTRAR I FER).

S'ha fet una diagnosi del coneixement i l'aprenentatge de les competències en sostenibilitat i els ODS tractats al Grau en Enginyeria Civil. Podeu consultar-ne els resultats clicant a sobre de cadascun dels grups d'ODS analitzats:

The SDG
In 2015, the United Nation published the Sustainable Development Goals, which intend to adapt to new circumstances and give a solution to actual problems. The purpose of these goals is to promote the development, wealth and society progress considering economical, environmental and social criteria.

Guidelines of CRUE about the sustainability and social commitment skills
The environmental work group at CRUE aims to integrate the following four skills specific in Sustainability (S) and Social Commitment (SC) to the university education:
- Critical contextualization skill in knowledge establishing relations with the social, economic, and environmental problems locally and globally.
- Sustainable use of resources and negative impact prevention skill of the natural and social environment.
- Communal process participation skill promoting sustainability.
- Ethical principles application skill regarding the sustainability values in the personal and professional behaviors.
Civil Engineering Code of Conduct
The code of contact from the “Col·legi de Camins, Canals i Ports (CiCCP)” announces at the article 9,the commitment of engineers with society, resources and the environment, the importance of taking into account the sustainability and the precautionary principle in every area of the profession.
Legal framework
Civil Engineers now have to be trained regarding the issued skills at Ordre Ministerial CIN/309/2009. Inside this accomplishment it is required the consideration of the sustainable development in technical training that enables the profession:
- Capacity to analyse and diagnose the social, cultural, environmental and economic conditions as well as carrying out urbanism projects from a sustainable development perspective.
- Capacity to evaluate and prepare environmentally the infrastructure works in projects, construction, rehabilitation and conservation.

What is the Engineering Sustainability Map?
The EDINSOST project has created the Engineering Sustainability Map. This is a tool that relates the Social Commitment and Sustainability competences with the learning results that graduates engineers should have acquired when completion of studies, grouped in three domain levels (theoretical apprenticeship - KNOWLEDGE, the consideration - KNOW HOW and the practical case application - PROVE AND DO).
