Professor and Head of the Institute of Geotechnical Engineering at the ETH Zurich, Switzerland
Alexander M. Puzrin is Professor and Head of the Institute of Geotechnical Engineering at the ETH Zurich, Switzerland. He studies natural and manmade hazards, such as landslides, earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes, snow avalanches and dam failures. His other interests are applications of novel sensor technologies to geotechnical monitoring and environmental geotechnics. Professor Puzrin has been involved as an expert and consultant in large-scale onshore and offshore international geotechnical projects and failure investigations.
