Team “OFEGATS” Wins the Final Phase of the Camins Challenges Water Challenge

The jury praised the technical excellence and innovative approach of the 5 finalists in an event supported by Aigües de Barcelona and the AMB.
On Thursday, April 9, the Barcelona School of Civil Engineering hosted the final phase of the Water Challenge, a key competition within the Camins Challengesprogram. The event was attended by the Director of the School, Esther Real, alongside faculty members from the hydraulic engineering department and representatives from leading institutions such as Aigües de Barcelona and the Área Metropolitana de Barcelona (AMB).
Out of 46 participating teams that submitted technical reports during the initial phase, 5 were selected to compete in the grand final. During this final stage, the teams defended their projects before a panel of experts including Alberto Maldonado (Aigües de Barcelona), Ferran Baqué (AMB), and Professor Beniamino Russo.
The jury commended the high quality of the proposals, evaluating factors such as technical rigor, innovative methodology, and communication skills. Team OFEGATS was declared the winner, receiving a €1,000 prize sponsored by Aigües de Barcelona. The Director of the School, Esther Real, concluded the ceremony by highlighting the students' hard work and thanking Juan Murcia and Eduardo Martínezfor their organizational leadership.
